Cleansing Operative
Location: Glastonbury Highway Depot, Wells Road, Glastonbury, BA6 9AS
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £12.45 per hour

Job Responsibilities
Undertake general street cleansing duties in the Mendip area of Somerset, including litter and dog bin emptying, litter picking, manual sweeping, and fly tip removal.
Start work at the depot in Glastonbury at 5/6am, requiring local residency.
Operate mobile equipment such as a work van or street barrow, necessitating a driving licence.
Work schedule includes Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Carry out street cleansing operations to enhance and maintain the environment with minimal disruption to customers.
Drive a non-LGV vehicle and machinery as needed, ensuring proper care and maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, and cleanliness.
Report on completed work and any health and safety concerns to supervision or Operational Management.
Operate tools and equipment safely, following manufacturers' instructions.
Maintain accurate records such as timesheets, tick sheets, and defect report forms.
Person Specifications
Essential: Good standard of education and a full UK Driving licence.
Essential: Self-motivated with the ability to provide quality service with minimal supervision.
Desirable: Experience in a hands-on, physical role.
Desirable: Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
