Job Description

Clerk of Works / Asset Manager - Capital Projects 📍 Edinburgh 💰 Circa £40,000 - £48,000 (DOE) 🕐 Full-time | Temporary or Permanent We are working with a respected housing organisation who are delivering a growing capital investment programme and are looking to appoint a Clerk of Works / Asset Manager to support the delivery of projects across their portfolio. This is a key role providing independent technical oversight of capital works, ensuring projects are delivered to the required standards, on time and within budget. The Role You will act as the organisation's on-site representative, providing quality assurance and holding contractors and consultants to account. Key responsibilities include: Inspecting works on site to ensure quality and compliance Monitoring progress against programme and specifications Identifying defects, risks and non-compliance Attending site and project meetings with contractors and consultants Reviewing contractor payments and variations Supporting cost control and budget monitoring Maintaining detailed inspection records and reports What we're looking for Experience in a Clerk of Works, Site Manager, Technical Officer or similar role Strong knowledge of construction methods and building regulations Experience overseeing contractors on capital projects Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Good understanding of cost control and project delivery Confident communicator, able to challenge where required Experience within social housing or public sector projects would be advantageous.
