Ballards LLP are an award-winning firm of chartered accountants, with offices in Worcester, Droitwich, and Birmingham. We’re looking for a proactive and client-focused finance professional to join our friendly and growing Outsourced Accounts team as Client Lead. In this role, you'll act as the lead contact for up to 20 clients, delivering high-quality bookkeeping and accounting support using cloud-based software, primarily Xero. About the role: * Main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing day-to-day communications, building strong working relationships, and ensuring their financial processes run smoothly and on time. * Prepare accurate and timely VAT returns in compliance with current regulations, ensuring clients meet their obligations without issue. * Responsible for generating and processing client sales invoices, ensuring all revenue is captured accurately and on schedule. * Manage the entry and coding of supplier and customer invoices, making sure all transactions are recorded properly in Xero. * Accurately post payroll-related journals, ensuring that all costs are properly accounted for in the financial statements. * Communicate with clients to clarify queries, provide updates, or explain financial matters in a friendly, professional manner that builds trust. * Responsible for preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments necessary for accurate management reporting. * Guide clients through the use of Xero, offering advice, troubleshooting help, and occasional training to help them get the most out of the software. * If within your skill set, you may support or take responsibility for compiling year-end accounts for clients, with the opportunity to build this into your role over time if desired. About you: We're looking for a confident communicator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for client service.
