Client Manager with proven experience in an accountancy practice or an accountant role, good understanding of UK accounting workflows and excellent communication skills is required for Benson Wood & Co based in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.
SALARY: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: Bellshill, North Lanarkshire (ML4) – Fully Office Based

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Client Manager with proven experience in an accountancy practice or an accountant role, good understanding of UK accounting workflows and excellent communication skills.
As the Client Manager you will be the link between clients, the delivery team, and leadership, keeping communication flowing and everything on track.
This is a people-first role that blends relationship management, team coordination, and a sharp eye for deadlines and capacity, and as the Client Manager you will shape both the client experience and the direction we’re moving in.
The accountant’s role is changing, we’re embracing that shift, and this role will evolve as Benson Wood & Co grows. Giving you space to contribute, innovate, and take ownership.
We believe the best work happens in person, but we support flexible working where it makes sense. Many of our senior team balance in-office presence with remote days, giving them space to focus without losing connection.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Client Manager will include:
* Managing your own portfolio and acting as the main point of contact for clients
* Coordinating with accountants and leadership to support day-to-day operations
* Keeping communication clear and workflows smooth across the team
* Monitoring deadlines, priorities, and team capacity
* Identifying client needs and ensuring the right support is in place
* Leading client onboarding and ensuring a positive, professional experience
* Attending client meetings and ensuring actions are followed up
* Mentoring and reviewing junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team culture
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
You have worked in practice and know how to juggle multiple moving parts. You’re organised, personable, and proactive in taking ownership of relationships and internal coordination.
Must-haves:
* Proven experience (5 years+) in an accountancy practice (e.g. senior accountant or client manager role)
* Strong understanding of UK accounting workflows and deadlines
* Clear communication skills and a calm, people-first approach
* A natural sense of ownership — proactive, organised, and solutions-focused
* CA, ACCA or AAT qualified
* Alignment to our values
Nice-to-haves:
* Experience supporting clients beyond compliance
* Familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, or KPI conversations
* Background in flexible or high-growth environments
* Experience using cloud tools like Xero and Dext
