Key Responsibilities of the Client Manager:
- Review company financial statements and sole trade accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review corporation tax returns, supporting client filings.
- Draft advice and recommendations with guidance from Senior Managers and Directors.
- Maintain a robust understanding of personal tax to handle annual personal tax filings efficiently.
- Understand financial statement disclosures to assist in financial reporting.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
- Liaise with clients to meet deadlines and address any requirements or queries.
- Assist Senior Managers and Directors with deadlines related to Accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll, and Company Secretarial tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring they are informed and supported.
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients.
- Support clients with ad hoc financial queries, including interpreting results and advising on best practices.
- Assist in setting up and developing internal systems and controls, including the implementation of accounting software.
- Confidently share knowledge on tax and financial affairs to reassure and guide clients.
- Support the development of junior team members and senior associates.
Ideal Attributes and Skills of the Client Manager:
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience within practice.
- Possession of a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing your own portfolio of clients. - A commitment to maintaining and developing technical knowledge.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and Xero; experience with Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 is desirable.
- Awareness and understanding of technological advancements in finance.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt skills to new scenarios.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
