Evolve Staffing Ltd. is hiring an experienced Band 7 Clinical Anticoagulation Specialist to join a specialist haematology-led outpatient and inpatient service within an esteemed NHS Trust serving Ashford. This ongoing locum position demands an expert practitioner with deep clinical expertise in managing oral and parenteral anticoagulation therapies, monitoring complex patients, and mitigating thrombotic and haemorrhagic risks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Lead outpatient and inpatient anticoagulation clinics, performing comprehensive clinical reviews for patients prescribed Vitamin K Antagonists (e.g., Warfarin), Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs), and Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH).

Execute Near-Patient Testing (NPT) for International Normalised Ratio (INR) monitoring, interpret lab results, and adjust medication dosages autonomously in accordance with Trust protocols.
*
Manage complex anticoagulation cases, including peri-operative bridging therapy plans, cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and mechanical heart valve protocols.
*
Utilize specialized clinical software systems (such as DAWN Anticoagulation software) to maintain accurate patient dosing histories, audit records, and recall schedules.

Deliver expert educational counselling to patients, carers, and secondary care staff regarding anticoagulation compliance, drug interactions, bleeding risks, and lifestyle modifications.
Shift Timings and Pattern
The position offers regular, consistent operational hours running from 09:00am to 17:00pm, Monday to Friday. Flexible part-time arrangements may be considered for suitable clinical candidates.
Requirements and Qualifications

Active professional registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse or the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacist.

Substantial clinical post-registration experience in NHS anticoagulation management, haematology, or thrombosis prevention services at Band 6 or Band 7 level.
*
Proficiency in operating clinical dosing platforms (e.g., DAWN Clinical Software) and performing INR capillary blood sampling.
*
Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (V300 or Independent Pharmacist Prescriber) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
*
Full UK Right to Work and complete NHS compliance documentation.
