Job Description

Role: Clinical Deputy Manager Location: Carmarthen, West Wales Salary: £42,367.23 per annum Hours: 36 hours per week (including an average of 12.5 hours per week of nursing shifts) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Deputy Manager to join a 20-bed purpose-built nursing service located in Johnstown, just outside Carmarthen. This service provides tailored care for individuals with physical disabilities and complex health conditions. The facility includes two floors with accessible bedrooms, communal lounges, hydro bubble baths, a sensory and activities room, and physiotherapy support. As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will report to the Registered Manager and play a key role in the clinical coordination and operational support of the service. You will help lead a dedicated team to deliver person-centred care with a focus on wellbeing, independence, and dignity. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes working closely with GPs, external professionals, and the wider community to support residents in leading fulfilling lives. Main Responsibilities * Assist the Registered Manager with service leadership and care quality oversight * Lead the nursing team to provide safe, person-centred care promoting dignity, independence, and equality * Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and legislative standards * Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control through leadership and regular audits * Liaise with external health professionals to manage admissions, discharges, and ongoing care needs * Provide clinical supervision and mentorship across the nursing team * Support recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and appraisal processes for new and existing staff * Ensure complaints and concerns are managed effectively and within required timescales * Provide strong leadership in the absence of the Registered Manager, escalating key issues appropriately * Drive a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement initiatives What We’re Looking For * Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin (essential) * Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse * Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities * Strong knowledge of person-centred care planning and delivery * Excellent leadership, communication, and clinical mentoring skills * Commitment to delivering the highest standards of care and promoting residents’ wellbeing Benefits * 35 days annual leave * Enhanced pay for bank holidays * Paid NMC registration and support with revalidation * Individualised professional development programmes * Training voucher allowance of £350 to support your PDP * Regular clinical supervision and participation in regional nurse forums * Company maternity pay (subject to qualifying period) * Refer-a-Friend bonus scheme (up to £1,000) * Discounts on retail, leisure, holidays, and travel * Paid DBS check * Participation in an employee ownership trust, with previous bonus distributions of over £1,850 per employee
