Job Description

Pharmacist - (Leicester UK) We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our team in implementing automated systems for unitdose patient therapy preparation. Location – Leicester Salary - £38k per annum + Shifts – Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm Job Summary Supervising the day-to-day operations of a unit dose laboratory with specific responsibility for: • Receiving, managing and supervision of drugs and unit dose preparation service. • Use, support and maintenance of automation technologies, process management and other activities related to unit doses preparation and disruption. • First-line operation and maintenance of equipment and systems. • Working in a team dedicated to the management of a computerised and automated drug dose system. • Provide an effective interface between UDL and main dispensary operations. • Train pharmacy, nursing, medical and other healthcare staff to use our Automatic Ward Cabinet. • To review and update training material for the system. • Reviewing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and policies for all parts of the system. • Participates in an on-call rota and/or shift working during phases of implementation supporting the systems out of hours, answering queries and dealing with problems that occur to ensure that the medical and nursing staff can continue the provision of care to patients on the wards that use the our Automation Systems. • Assist in any configuration changes to the system as implementation progresses.Responds to comments and complaints on the proposed system, resolving complex problems and dealing with unanticipated issues, referring to the project manager where necessary. Assist in the design and implementation, with the assistance of the project team, of appropriate monitoring systems at ward and dispensary level to show the impact and ensure safe use of the system. Ensures that there is no conflict with trust-wide policies and pharmacy policies/procedures. • Work with other senior pharmacists and service managers to promote and maintain good communication and efficient work throughout the pharmacy service, the wards and the nurses. • Carries out any other duties as required within the nature and grade of the post. • To support with the management of medicine shortages and supply problems. • Maintain strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) • Manage stock levels to meet demands of the service. Requirements • Based in Leicester • Specific training will be performed in the initial phase on the field. • GPhC registered. Person Specification Qualifications and Experience: • Registered Pharmacist with relevant certification (GPhC). • Hospital Experience • Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Skills and Competencies: • Stock management • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals in a very demanding and innovative environment. • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges. • High attention to details and accuracy in handling stock management and documentation. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management for inventory tracking and reporting. Desirable Criteria • Experience managing medicine shortages and supply issues. • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. • Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
