Clinical Matron Neonatal (NNU) and Transitional Care The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) Band 8a - £55,690 to £62,682 per annum Permanent It's an exciting time at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust as we navigate a turbulent period of change. We are looking for an experienced Neonatal Clinical Matron and if you have the passion, commitment, patient focus and skills we need, and you can really demonstrate our values in your leadership style, then we’re eager to hear from you. We are currently looking to recruit to our existing NNU team, and this is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and ambitious neonatal nurse to become an active part in our strong and experienced multi – disciplinary team. This is a key role to help us develop our services for the future and we are looking for individuals who are keen to work as part of our Senior Nursing Team to expand and develop the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care. The Opportunity There are new and exciting things happening within the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, we have moved from four Divisions to seven Care Groups in order to align our services to provide better pathways for our patients, this move has given more opportunity for an increase in senior leaders in the organisation to lead on delivering excellent care. This is a key role to help us develop our services for the future and we are looking for individuals who are keen to work as part of our Senior Nursing Team to expand and develop the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care. We currently have 20 cots and are a level 2 Local NNU - 3 intensive care, 4 high dependency and 13 special care cots. We are an active participant in the South West Neonatal Network. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Nursing, General Manager, and Clinical Directors for the Women, Children and HIV Care Group. Background on Organisation The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It serves a population of around 570,000 people, a figure that can increase significantly with visitors during the busiest times of the year. We employ approximately 6,700 staff and have a budget of approximately £580 million. Our 10-year strategy, ‘Outstanding Care for One and All’ set out our ambitions for the future, including our flagship Women and Children’s Hospital, part of the national New Hospitals Programme. It represents the biggest ever single investment in healthcare in Cornwall and is due for complete in 2028. Looking for an ambitious Neonatal Nurse who is forward thinking and innovative, can demonstrate a proven track record in supporting change and service improvement, flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational skills but most importantly, have enthusiasm for positive change.
