Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Location: Manchester (Hybrid role)
Certain Advantage are looking for a highly skilled and committed NQ Solicitor to join our clients established Clinical Negligence team. In this role, you will manage your own caseload of claims covering a wide range of medical, dental, and clinical injury matters. The work will be both varied and challenging, with cases spanning different levels of complexity and value.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply expert knowledge across all areas of clinical negligence law, handling complex and sensitive cases with professionalism.
Manage litigated claims with a strong grasp of the technical and procedural issues involved.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and always ensure compliance.
Take personal ownership of cases while working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Show strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to case progression and client service.
Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
Contribute technical expertise to the team, acting as a point of reference on complex matters.
Consistently achieve monthly and annual financial performance targets, supporting the overall profitability of the department.
Deliver excellent client communication and care, always maintaining empathy and professionalism.
Identify, assess, and manage risk effectively on both an individual and team basis.
Operate to the highest standards of compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, medical experts, counsel, and other external stakeholders.

The individual
We are looking for someone who has:
Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and their practical application.
Proven ability to draft high-quality court documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Confident advocacy skills, with experience representing clients effectively.
Excellent telephone manner and ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and stakeholders.
Strong fact-finding and investigative skills, with the ability to identify key issues quickly.
Solid understanding of cost budgeting and experience handling Costs Case Management Conferences (CCMCs).
Assertive, proactive, and determined approach with the ability to drive cases forward.
Strong client care and customer service skills, with empathy and professionalism.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Effective oral communication skills, both in and outside the courtroom.
IT literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Experience using Proclaim case management system (or similar).
