Are you an ambitious Clinical Psychologist seeking a new challenge, career development and a competitive salary? An established provider of specialist residential and educational services for children and young people is looking for a dedicated, caring Clinical Psychologist to join their multidisciplinary team.
This service is a 12-bedded children’s residential home for young people aged 12–18 with ongoing mental health needs and challenging behaviours, supported by an on-site school.
The Role
We are recruiting a qualified Clinical Psychologist (NHS Band 7–8a equivalent) to deliver varied and rewarding work across a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. You will play a key role in shaping the service, improving outcomes for young people, and embedding psychologically informed practice across the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions for children and young people.
Carry out assessments, including risk assessments, formulations, and treatment recommendations.
Deliver psychological treatment plans and evaluate outcomes.
Supervise Assistant Psychologists and psychology graduates, overseeing their caseloads and interventions.
Train and guide staff to implement psychologically informed practices.
Make evidence-based recommendations to the MDT on assessment, intervention and risk management.
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with policies and professional standards.
Participate in MDT meetings, professional reviews and service development initiatives.
Work under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and as part of a wider MDT including Psychiatry, OT, Nursing and Education.
Essential:
Doctoral qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent).
HCPC registration.
Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation.
Experience with clinical outcome monitoring and risk assessment.
Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage complex caseloads.
Strong communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
High standard of literacy and report writing.
Experience applying a range of psychological interventions.
Desirable:
Experience conducting specialist assessments (Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, complex needs, challenging behaviour).
Knowledge of developmental trauma and working with looked-after/adopted children.
Experience supervising others and delivering training to multidisciplinary staff.
