Job Description
Established manufacturing organisation seeks an experienced CMM Operator for immediate start. Permanent Contracts offered, varying shifts available, competitive rates of pay and progression opportunities provided.
As CMM Operator you’ll be part of a busy, forward-thinking team supporting the production and quality departments by carrying out dimensional inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine. Prior experience in high-precision manufacturing settings, preferably within the automotive or aerospace industries.
CMM Operator duties:
* Carry out first-off inspections to check new parts meet the right specs
* Using PC-DMIS software
* Take regular measurements to support production and make sure parts are within tolerance
* Use CMM machines safely and follow all safety rules
* Help with new part launches, making sure inspection steps are followed
* Work to improve how often machines are used and help make sure parts are made right the first time
* Keep track of product quality and batch records at all times
* Fill out inspection paperwork clearly and correctly
* Check and calibrate gauges and fixtures to make sure they’re accurate
Skills/Experience required for the role of CMM Operator:
* Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and their application in quality assurance
* Demonstrated expertise in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), with preference for experience using PCDMIS software
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Hours of Work: Various Shifts Available
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
