Job Description
Mazco Recruitment are proud to be supporting a leading aerospace manufacturer in Solihull, seeking an experienced CNC Grinder to join their precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on high-tolerance aerospace components using Jones & Shipman grinding machines.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings, charts, layouts, and work instructions.
*
Grind external and internal cylindrical tapered surfaces.
*
Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces to aerospace standards.
*
Determine product specifications including dimensions, tolerances, and part volumes.
*
Select appropriate grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels.
*
Mount, dress, and change grinding wheels when required.
*
Safely position work rests, fixtures, and components.
*
Operate lifting/hoisting equipment to handle workpieces.
*
Verify components meet the required specifications using micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges.
*
Inspect grinding wheels for cracks and ensure correct wheel guards are in place.
*
Set up and operate automatic work-feeding devices as required.
*
Maintain a strong focus on safety and precision in every task.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a CNC Grinder within aerospace or precision engineering.
*
Hands-on experience with Jones & Shipman grinding machines.
*
Ability to work to tight tolerances and strict quality standards.
*
Strong understanding of grinding processes and tooling.
*
Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment.
