Job Description
CNC Machinist / CNC Operator (1 Week Early/1 Week Late)
First Achieve Engineering are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Operator to join a well-established engineering business specialising in high-quality, low-volume manufacturing.

The Role
You will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and sub-assemblies using a range of CNC and manual machine tools, working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Set, program, and operate CNC milling or turning machines
Manufacture components in a low-volume, high-quality production environment
Work to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
Modify or manufacture tooling including jigs, fixtures, and moulds
Inspect and verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
Achieve production targets in line with job requirements
Accurately log work times using ERP systems
Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
Identify hazards and promote safe working practices within the workshop
Requirements
Essential:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a CNC machining environment
Proven experience operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
Ability to read and interpret ISO engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Competent using measuring equipment (micrometres, Vernier callipers, etc.)
Basic IT skills
Understanding of 5S principles
Desirable:
Time-served apprenticeship
Experience with CNC programming, setting, and operating
Familiarity with controls such as:
Hurco (Winmax)
Fanuc
Mazatrol (Mazak)
Siemens
