CNC Machinist
Location: Basildon
Salary: £18.25 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Job Description
We are currently recruiting an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well-established joinery and fit-out manufacturer working within the commercial interiors sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality joinery components to exact specifications using CNC machinery and associated software.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set and operate CNC machinery to machine joinery components to precise tolerances
Work from detailed production drawings and cutting lists
Identify and report any design, tooling, or machine issues
Handle materials safely and ensure proper protection of veneered and finished surfaces
Select and use correct materials in line with FSC / PEFC compliance requirements
Work collaboratively with colleagues in production and assembly departments
Support manual handling and general factory operations where required
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company quality procedures
Contribute to continuous improvement and efficient manufacturing practices
Machines and Software
CNC Machine: Homag
CNC Programming Software: Alphacam and WoodWop
Operation Mode: Currently offline (transitioning to online)
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or CNC Operator within a joinery, woodworking, or manufacturing environment
Skilled in programming, setting and operating machinery such as Dimension Saw, Drum Sander, Planer and Thicknesser, Cross-Cut Saw and Band Saw
Strong ability to read and interpret detailed production and technical drawings
Good understanding of joinery construction methods and timber-based materials including hardwoods, softwoods, veneered and laminate panels
Qualifications
Relevant industry qualification in machine woodworking or equivalent hands-on experience
Benefits

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
