Job Description

CareerMakers Recruitment are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our client based in Wigan, WN5.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Operate and maintain panel saws and CNC machinery to cut, shape, and finish materials accurately

  * Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and CAD files to ensure precise production

  * Set up machines, including tooling changes, calibration, and program adjustments

  * Load materials and ensure correct alignment before cutting

  * Monitor machine operations to maintain quality and efficiency standards

  * Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery

  * Inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards

  * Minimize material waste and optimize cutting patterns for efficiency

  * Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety regulations

  * Work collaboratively with production, design, and assembly teams

  * Record production data and report any faults or inconsistencies

Skills & Requirements

  * Experience operating CNC machines and/or panel saws

  * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements

  * Knowledge of materials used in manufacturing

  * Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  * Understanding of CNC programming

  * Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  * Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  * Understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop environment

Working hours:

Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4pm, Friday 7am – 2pm

Salary: £15 per hour
