Job Description

CNC Machinist – Milling & Boring (Heidenhain)

Overview

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join a precision subcontract manufacturing environment based in Dudley (Unit 20). This is a day-shift role involving setting, programming, and operating CNC milling machines and horizontal borers.

Key Responsibilities

  * Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines and horizontal borers

  * Working primarily with Heidenhain controls (Fanuc experience beneficial)

  * Producing precision components to tight tolerances in a subcontract machining environment

  * Interpreting engineering drawings, including machining symbols, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  * Carrying out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, slip gauges, etc.)

  * Ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all work produced

  * Supporting wider workshop activities as required to meet production demands

Skills & Experience Required

  * Proven experience in medium to large CNC milling and boring operations

  * Strong knowledge of Heidenhain programming (Fanuc knowledge advantageous)

  * Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications

  * Experience working within a subcontract machining environment

  * Apprenticeship in engineering or equivalent hands-on CNC machining experience

  * Competence in using precision measuring tools for quality verification
