Position Overview
As a CNC Machinist/Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 3 and 5 axis CNC machines to manufacture complex precision components. Working closely with engineers and project teams, you'll ensure programs are optimised for efficiency and accuracy, aligned with customer specifications and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machining centres using Autodesk PowerMill.
Prepare CNC programs from engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining strategies.
Carry out machine setups, including tool selection, workholding, and alignment.
Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to produce high-quality precision components.
Inspect and measure components throughout and after machining to ensure compliance with tolerances.
Collaborate with engineers to refine programs and suggest process improvements during prototype and production runs.
Maintain accurate production records and report on machine performance.
Follow all site Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist/Programmer working with both 3 and 5 axis machining centres.
Strong proficiency in Autodesk PowerMill or similar CAM software.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to programming and machining.
Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material properties in a precision engineering environment.
Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Health & Safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
Salary and Benefits Package
