Job Description
Job Title: Hurco Miller – Programmer/Setter/Operator
* Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands
* Salary: £16 to £17 per hour (regualr overtime available)
* Hours: Monday to Friday (Dayshift)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Hurco CNC Miller with experience in programming, setting, and operating vertical machining centres. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Hurco controls (WinMax) and be confident working independently on both one-off and small-batch precision components. This is a key role within our production team, ensuring quality, efficiency, and reliability on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:

Program, set, and operate Hurco milling machines using WinMax control systems.
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precision machined parts.
*
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimize cutting conditions.
*
Carry out first-off inspection and in-process checks to ensure parts meet specification.
*
Adjust programs and tooling offsets as necessary to maintain tolerances.
*
Ensure machines are maintained and kept in good working order.
*
Work with minimal supervision to complete jobs within designated timeframes.
*
Communicate effectively with engineers, quality inspectors, and production management.
*
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with company policies.
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential:
*
Proven experience programming, setting, and operating Hurco CNC milling machines.
*
Strong knowledge of Hurco WinMax controls.
*
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
*
Good understanding of machining best practices, tooling, and materials.
*
Competent with manual and digital measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
*
Able to work to tight tolerances with minimal supervision.
