Job Description

CNC Operator

Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear

Salary: DOE

Company: A well-established leading signage and display company.

Role: Our client is currently looking for a CNC operator to join their growing team in the Gateshead area.

The purpose of the CNC Operator role is to manufacture high-quality signage components by safely and efficiently operating CNC routers and related equipment.

  * Operate 3-axis CNC Routers, including AXYZ or Tekcel machines.

  * Set up and run CNC machinery safely and efficiently.

  * Depending on experience, create and amend programs using VCarve CAM Software.

  * Responsible for 6S duties which include the machine itself and the area around the machine.

  * Manufacture products accurately to engineering drawings and customer specifications.

  * Carry out quality inspections to ensure products meet dimensional and finish requirements.

  * Responsible for routine maintenance on the machine, including condition of sacrificial boards, greasing of the runners, and troubleshooting any minor issues.

  * Follow all company health and safety procedures.

  * Work closely with colleagues to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.

Requirements:

  * Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.

  * Experience operating 3-axis CNC Routers.

  * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  * Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently to production deadlines.

  * Physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.

  * Experience in signage desirable.

  * Experience with AXYZ or Tekcel CNC Routers, VCarve CAM Software, Automatic Letter Benders (ALB) or FLOW Waterjet machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
