The Role

Due to continued growth and investment in new machinery, our client is looking to recruit a CNC Operator to join their workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working on varied, bespoke projects rather than high-volume production.

You'll be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision-cut components used in the manufacture of custom-built sets, displays and installations, working closely with designers, carpenters and the wider production team.

Key Responsibilities

  * Set up and operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently

  * Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files and cutting programmes

  * Produce accurate timber, MDF, plywood and sheet material components

  * Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required specifications

  * Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working order

  * Load materials safely and monitor machining processes

  * Work closely with the design and workshop teams to ensure projects are delivered on time

  * Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

  * Assist with workshop duties when required during busy production periods

About You

  * Previous experience operating CNC machinery

  * Experience working with timber, MDF or sheet materials is desirable

  * Ability to read technical drawings

  * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  * Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude

  * Able to work both independently and as part of a team

  * Understanding of workshop health and safety procedures

  * Experience with CNC programming software would be advantageous but is not essential
