Job Description

CNC Process Engineer Based in Wolverhampton Up to £45000 basic + benefits CNC Process Engineer We are seeking a CNC Process Engineer to work with the current Production Management team and current Team Leaders. Working for a leading engineering company in Wolverhampton, this role is imperative for the continued growth plans ans success of the overall business. About the role: As a CNC Process engineer, you’ll drive the optimisation of all CNC machine processes, ensuring precision, efficiency and quality across our varied components. You will work closely with the Production, Quality and our CAD/CAM teams, to enhance our current processes, support new projects and uphold our reputation for excellence. You will continue to work under the Sherwood’s values and help move the company forward, working under quality standards, safety protocols and ISO requirements. You must be a team player and work towards the goals set by the Management Team. Key responsibilities of a CNC Process Engineer: * Develop and refine CNC programs for our Haas CNC milling centres and our long length extrusion CNC’s (multi axis), to ensure we are efficient and as streamlined as possible. Also making sure all engineering standards are adhered to, whilst working with the knowledge and skills of existing programmers. * Optimise manufacturing processes to reduce setup times and create setup instructions to help with repeated runners. * Create fixture designs, jig designs and work closely with the Production Manager on specialist tooling which will aid efficiency, save costs and promote a ‘work smarter not harder’ mentality. * Maintain documentation of setups and changes to setups or processes which increase efficiency. Perform time studies and workflow analysis to help QA resolve non-conformances and enhance processes. * Collaborate with colleagues to support new product introductions and the processes behind new products. * Provide technical guidance to CNC operators and apprentices, including training on new processes or technologies. * Monitor CNC equipment performance and recommend maintenance or upgrades as needed. Experience required for the CNC Process Engineer: * At least 2+ years in CNC Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, ideally with hands-on CNC programming and machining experience. Experience with relevant ISO’s also essential. Technical Skills: * Proficiency in CAD/CAM software Fusion360. * Strong understanding of CNC operations (milling and multi-axis systems) and G/M code programming. * Good knowledge of tooling advantageous. * Proven problem solving skills and knack for root cause analysis. * Excellent communication skills are role will be working across multiple teams. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Automation advantages but not essential.
