Job Role: CNC Programmer& Setter
Location: South London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months initially - potential to join permanently
Pay: £16.20ph PAYE
Overview:
We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer & Setter to programme, set, and operate CNC lathes (sliding-head and fixed-head) to produce precision components to tight tolerances. You will manage setups independently, verify parts using precision measuring equipment, and support efficient machine performance-including unmanned running.
Key Responsibilities
Create and adjust CNC programs at the control and via offline/CAM software.
Set and operate sliding-head & fixed-head lathes (Star, Miyano, Citizen).
Manufacture components to tight tolerances and conduct in-process inspection.
Use verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical inspection tools.
Requirements
3+ years' experience in CNC programming/setting.
Ability to read and write Fanuc programs from scratch.
Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools.
Confident in interpreting engineering drawings.
Engineering apprenticeship or HNC preferred.
