Job Description

CNC Programmer – Poole, Dorset Salary: £35,000–£45,000 Take on a role where your programming skills genuinely influence the quality of every finished component. This CNC Programmer position offers the chance to work on complex, large-scale parts while contributing to a team that thrives on precision, collaboration, and steady progression. The CNC Programmer will join an established engineering group in Poole, supporting projects from initial programming stages through to final manufacture. You’ll be part of a modern, well-equipped environment where problem-solving and accuracy are central to every job. It’s an excellent opportunity for a CNC Programmer who enjoys technical challenge, hands-on involvement, and varied project work. As a CNC Programmer, you will: Write and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Alphacam or similar) Produce work instructions, drawings, and cut/pack guides Design jigs, fixtures, tooling, and shop aids Work alongside CNC operators to verify and refine programs Support estimating and costing for incoming projects Liaise with customers and suppliers, including occasional site visits Identify and implement machining and workflow improvements Uphold Health & Safety, quality, and environmental standardsEssential skills for the CNC Programmer: 2+ years’ experience programming 3-axis CNC machinery (5-axis desirable) Experience with Alphacam, Hexagon, or similar CAM packages Confident in 2D and 3D CAD Understanding of machining foam, wood, and textile materials Strong problem-solving ability and proactive approach Clear communicator who works well within a teamBenefits for the CNC Programmer: Competitive salary Work with advanced materials and modern CNC machinery Long-term development within a growing, stable business Supportive team environment that values initiativeIf you’re an experienced CNC Programmer who wants to be part of a business that values precision, people, and progress, get in touch.
