CNC Programmer Setter Operator (Sliding head)
Pegbox Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing company in the Bognor Regis area to recruit a skilled CNC (Sliding Head) Programmer Setter Operator.
Our client is looking for someone on either a permanent basis, or a contractor (outside of IR35) as well as a contract to permanent role.
To be considered, you will be a CNC (Sliding Head) Setter Programmer who excels in off and online programming, machine setting and operating, making corrections, edits and adjustments as well as First-off inspections.
In this position, you will be instrumental in maintaining 5S standards within your zone and contributing to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for CNC machines.
As an integral part of their operations, you will participate in weekly engineering change meetings (ECNs) and New Product Introductions (NPIs), ensuring continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities / Key Skills required:
You will be expected to be able to carry out all the below and therefore have relevant and demonstrable experience as follows:
* CNC Programming: Develop and optimise CNC programs for high-precision manufacturing using Fanuc controllers from drawings. (Essential)
* CNC Sliding Head Machine Setting & Adjustments (Ideal)
* Ensure correct setup, calibration, and fine-tuning of machines to achieve optimal performance.
* First-Off Inspection & Tweaks:
* Conduct initial inspections, identify necessary modifications, and implement adjustments to improve production quality.
* Tooling Organisation & Ordering: Manage tooling inventory, ordering, and replacement to maintain smooth workflow.
* 5S & TPM Implementation: Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment following 5S principles while ensuring effective TPM practices to enhance machine reliability.
* Autonomous Ownership: Oversee and take full responsibility for the turning cell, driving efficiency and quality improvements.
* Continuous Improvement Participation: Contribute to ECNs and NPIs during weekly meetings, supporting innovation and process enhancements.
If your application is successful, you will have the opportunity to join either on a permanent basis or as a contractor.
The salary is based on an hourly rate with overtime paid at x1.25
Due to the different job types, information about the rate will be disclosed upon application and based upon experience.
