Job Title: CNC Setter (Sliding Head)
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Salary: £18.00 per hour (DOE)
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm (TTP)
About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter with strong knowledge of sliding head lathes to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Oldbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist looking for a long-term role with the potential to go permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and operate CNC sliding head machines (e.g., Star, Citizen, or similar)
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Perform tool changes and offsets as required
Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlinesRequirements:
Proven experience as a CNC Setter, ideally with sliding head machines
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethicBenefits:
