Experienced CNC Setters / Operators required to work for large Engineering company based in Plymouth. Successful candidates will be required to set and operate both Fanuc controlled CNC and PLC Machinery. Key Responsibilities:
* Set and operate machinery in any cell as directed by Team Leader.
* Set and operate a cell unsupervised.
* Set machine tooling and jigs in accordance with production engineering and Company quality standards.
* Ensure tooling is fitted correctly and running in accordance with specification sheets.
* Complete first-off’s and appropriate checks in compliance with Company quality and production engineering standards.
* Load and unload components from machinery.
* Read Engineering Drawings and adhere to SOP’s.
* Use analogue and digital measuring equipment such as Verniers and Micrometres.
* Achieve production targets – where variances occur, report to the Cell Leader or Senior Cell Leader.
* Communicate breakdowns or machine abnormalities to the Cell Leader, Senior Cell Leader or a member of the maintenance team.
* Report defects to cell leader, this includes scrap and RTS. Setter operator to report work order, part number and reason to the Cell Leader. Report damaged or faulty guarding or machinery to the Cell Leader immediately. Ensure machinery guarding is in place when machinery is operational.
* Stamp product to verify conformance with the Company quality standards.
* Observe and comply with all Company health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
* Perform frequency gauge checks in accordance with the Company’s production engineering and quality procedures.
* Complete daily short interval scheduling sheets clearly, accurately and in a timely manner.
* Complete daily/weekly machine setter operator checklist – coolants, oils and machine health and safety.
* Perform TPM as and when required.
* Train operators or setter operators as and when required.
* Good housekeeping within your area of work.
Essential Experience and Candidate attributes required:
* Recent, proven experience working as a CNC Setter / Operator within Engineering or Manufacturing.
* Experience of reading Engineering drawings and using analogue & digital Verniers and Micrometers.
* Excellent eye for detail.
Desirable Qualifications (Beneficial but not Essential):
* A Mechanical Engineering qualification such as BTEC, HNC or HND.
The successful candidate must be able to work either a weekly alternating shift comprising of Monday to Friday 06:00am to 14:00pm and Monday to Friday 14:00pm to 22:00pm. The salary advertised is inclusive of 20% shift premium for Alternating shift
