Adecco Crewe are working with a leading precision engineering company seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to take ownership of complex, multi-axis machining projects and work within a supportive, high-performing production environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating a range of CNC machines to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances. Working from technical drawings, you'll ensure that all parts meet specification and quality standards while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate complex, multi-axis CNC machinery
Create, download, and adjust CNC programs as required
Read and interpret engineering drawings, applying strong knowledge of GD&T
Carry out in-process inspections and record results
Adjust offsets, tool settings, and perform minor machine maintenance
Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with TPM principles
Support and train junior CNC personnel when required
Always adhere to Health & Safety and PPE requirements
About You
We're looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC professional with a strong background in precision machining.
Essential Requirements:
Experienced machinist with BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification
Hands-on CNC experience
Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and G & M codes
Proficient understanding of GD&T and ability to read complex engineering drawings
Experience with inspection tools such as micrometres, height gauges, shadow graphs, and CNC CMMs
Confident with maths, geometry, and trigonometry
Good communication and teamwork skillsDesirable:
Experience with 6S / continuous improvement environments
The Package
Competitive salary: £33,000 - £36,000 per year
Overtime available subject to workload
30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Generous pension scheme (4% employee / 6% employer)
