About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to join a forward-thinking precision engineering business working within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.
This is a hands-on role for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. You’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring all products meet exacting customer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
*
Set, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce components to specification.
*
Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting patterns to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste.
*
Carry out in-process quality checks, ensuring all parts meet required tolerances.
*
Accurately record production data using computer-based systems.
*
Maintain safe working practices in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
*
Contribute to training and development of junior operators where required.
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience in CNC Milling (setting & operating) within a precision engineering environment (aerospace experience beneficial).
*
Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
*
Ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed specifications.
*
Computer literate and confident completing production documentation.
*
Safety-conscious with good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
*
A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Desirable
*
Counterbalance forklift licence.
*
Basic machine maintenance skills.
*
Knowledge of continuous improvement / lean principlesBefore You Apply
