Are you a CNC Setter Operator who works best when the setup’s solid, the drawings are clear, and the machine runs just right? If you take pride in doing things properly—not chasing targets or cutting corners—The CNC Setter Operator with be working Nights - this CNC Setter Operator role could be exactly what you’re looking for. You’ll join a skilled, steady team producing high-precision components for nuclear, defence, and oil & gas industries. It’s a clean, well-organised workshop where process matters, tools are ready, and people genuinely care about getting it right first time.
🛠 CNC Setter Operator – What You’ll Be Doing
This isn’t just button-pushing. You’ll be trusted to set and operate CNC lathes from start to finish, working with:
* 2 & 3 axis Fanuc-controlled lathes
* Twin spindle/twin turret setups
* Doosan, Biglia, and sliding head machines
* Exotic materials and tight tolerances
* Full machine setups, program edits, and first-off checks
* Close collaboration with inspection using micrometers, gauges, and calipers
Engineers and programmers will surround you—but as a CNC Setter Operator, you’ll be trusted to get on with it, spot issues early, and deliver quality without compromise.
👤 What Makes a Great CNC Setter Operator
You’re someone who:
* Knows your feeds and speeds
* Understands turning strategy and tight tolerances
* Can read drawings and use precision measuring tools
* Has experience with Fanuc controls, sliding heads, Doosan, or Biglia
* Takes pride in a clean first-off and a job well done
If you’ve got CNC programming experience on top of setting and operating, even better—there’s flexibility for the right person.
💰 Pay & Benefits
* £15–£17ph base rate + £3ph night shift allowance
* Monday to Thursday 6pm - 6am (Finishing Friday Morning at 6am)
* Night Shift Allowance of £3ph
* Overtime available at time and a half and double time.
* 26 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
