Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Overview:
NexGen Consultancy Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well established precision engineering manufacturer for a CNC Setter Operator to join their sliding head machining department. This is a hands on role suited to an experienced CNC setter operator with a background in sliding head or Swiss type CNC machines, producing high precision components.

The role offers stable day shift hours and the opportunity to work within a well organised and supportive CNC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Set and operate sliding head CNC machines

  * Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain component quality

  * Produce components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances

  * Carry out first off inspections and in process quality checks

  * Monitor machine performance and address minor issues

  * Work to production schedules and output targets

  * Maintain a clean and safe working area

  * Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives

  * Work closely with supervisors and production team

Skills and Experience Required:

  * Proven experience as a CNC Setter Operator

  * Experience with sliding head CNC machines

  * Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

  * Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment

  * Good understanding of tooling offsets and cutting parameters

  * Strong attention to detail and quality

  * Reliable and team focused approach

Desirable Experience:

  * Swiss type sliding head CNC machines

  * Multi axis CNC machining experience

  * Experience working in a high volume precision environment
