CNC Turner
We are working with a key client who are part of the global $7.2 billion publicly listed Corporation. They are a class leading supplier and highly trusted brand within the aerospace industry, manufacturing precision gear splined and threaded components for key clients including Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more. We are now recruiting very experienced CNC Turner to join this business.
Key skills required of the CNC Turner:
* The CNC Turner is required to have over 4 years hands working experiences
* Previous Aerospace experience or similar is required
* Must be competent in operating CNC Lathes (Takisawa CNC Turning machines) using Fanuc controls , CMZ Turn experience would be an advantage.
* Previous experience of working with a range of materials i.e., Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel & Aluminum to typical tolerance of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm) in line with customer specifications.
* Either apprentice trained or qualified by experience
* The right CNC Turner must be capable of operating without supervision and have the capability to problem solve
* Preferably apprentice trained in motor sport, oil and gas, or aerospace
Responsibilities
* Operating CNC turning machines and other machines within the Turning department to produce components to customer specification. Typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm)
* You will be working with Planning, Quality and other teams on repeat and NPI jobs to develop manufacturing methods for our customer’s designs.
* Ensure accurate job timings are recorded within the Company’s ERP system, Javelin and scanning on and off jobs.
* Maintain 6s standards within the shop floor
* Participate in Kaizen events and look for continuous improvement opportunities- improving processes with small tweaks or complete re-engineering.
You will be part of a great team, working within a clean environment, producing high precision parts and components for the Aerospace industry. The nature of the work is small to medium batch with medium to high complexity. The primary focus of this position is to work with the Milling and Turning teams to drive safety, quality and delivery, exceeding our customer’s expectations.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, starting at 3:00 PM and finishing at 1:30 AM from Monday to Wednesday, and 1:00 AM on Thursday—totalling 39.5 hours per week.
Extra: Uplift to time and a third for hours worked after 7:00 PM.
