CNC Turner – Fully Skilled
(Ely, Cambridgeshire)
Salary Negotiable dependent on experience
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our client's precision engineering team in Ely, supplying a wide range of high-quality components into the aviation, aerospace, and other advanced engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Set, operate, and program CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances.
Work independently from engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout production.
Utilise twin-spindle lathes with Y-axis capabilities and driven tooling (ideally Doosan machines) to deliver complex machining solutions.
Support production across a range of machining centres, including Haas and Doosan vertical machining centres.
Operate and support production on sliding head lathes (experience advantageous but not essential).
Machine a variety of challenging and exotic materials, including Inconel, titanium, and other high-performance alloys.
Contribute to continuous improvement, process optimisation, and lean manufacturing initiatives to maximise efficiency and quality.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Proven background in CNC Turning, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in programming and setting complex parts.
CAD/CAM knowledge (training can be provided if required).
Ability to inspect own work using a variety of measuring equipment, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Flexible approach to work, with the ability to support colleagues and adapt to new challenges.
