Job Description
Axon Moore are working with an exceptional business based near the Crewe area who area looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant to become an integral member of the Finance function.
Reporting into an exceptionally high-calibre Financial Controller, the successful applicant will hold a highly commercial role, including taking responsibility for month end management accounts as well as forecasting and analysis. This role could provide an ambitious candidate with the experience and achievements that could enable them to enhance their career trajectory.
This person will take ownership for a complete set of monthly management accounts, weekly cash flow forecasting as well as developing a new set of commercial reporting.
Sales and margin analysis – in depth analysis of different routes to market and supporting reporting for each area as well as being able to step back and review and complete reporting for the entire company, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Additionally, there will be an expectation this individual will review and identify areas for improvements to reporting to improve commercial decision making and overall profitability for the business.
Commercial sales forecasting – supporting and managing forecasting on different products on a monthly basis.
Support and manage annual budget process – provide key information and insight around volume and margin trends.
Liaise with SLT and sales teams to bring concepts discussed at management meetings to life.
Business partnering: Holding regular meetings with different areas of the business to discuss results and forecast.
Contract monitoring: Monitor new contracts put on ensuring they are at an appropriate margin, challenging anything below expected margin levels.
Ensure customers take full contract (don’t under or over order) where this improves profitability.
Work with sales reps and product teams to manage anyone taking too much / too little against their contract.
Collaborate with Financial reporting accountant to resolve any price issues identified when weekly sales reports are run.
The successful Commercial Accountant will have the following background;
ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified with 1-2 years PQE
Hands on experience preparing month end management accounts
Comfortable and skilled in the use and analysis of data to drive insight and value
Possess a high level of people and relationship skillsBefore You Apply
