Job Description
Marble Talent Group are looking for an experienced Commercial Catering Engineer to join our clients growing team in Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial catering equipment across a variety of sites, including restaurants, hotels, schools, and care homes.
This is a field-based role that requires a proactive, customer-focused individual with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and repairs on a wide range of commercial catering equipment (gas and electrical).
* Install, commission, and test new catering equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
* Diagnose and resolve equipment faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
* Provide excellent customer service and professional communication with clients on-site.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent via job management systems.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Participate in the on-call rota for emergency breakdown cover (where applicable).
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Commercial Catering Engineer or similar field-based service role.
* COMCAT qualifications (1, 2, 3, and 5) are essential.
* Sound knowledge of commercial kitchen appliances (ovens, dishwashers, fryers, combi ovens, etc.).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
* Electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 18th Edition).
* Experience working with leading catering brands such as Rational, Lincat, Blue Seal, or Falcon.
* Refrigeration or warewashing experience.
* Based in or near Cornwall for efficient regional coverage.
