Commercial Contracts Manager (12-Month FTC)
Warrington | Energy Sector | 4 or 5 Days per Week | £55,000 – £70,000
A growing energy business is looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). This is a key role in a lean, fast-moving company where you’ll have real influence, visibility, and ownership from day one.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership across operations, finance, and commercial, helping the business stay compliant, commercially efficient, and ready to scale as it brings new energy sites online across the UK.
This role requires someone confident tearing apart contracts, analysing clauses, identifying risks, and strengthening commercial positions. Experience with NEC or JCT contracts.
Key Responsibilities
  * 
    Maintain and manage the company’s central contracts register.
  * 
    Forensically review contracts, identifying risks, inconsistencies, and commercial exposures.
  * 
    Interpret NEC/JCT clauses at a detailed level and provide commercial guidance on obligations and entitlements.
  * 
    Draft, amend, and renegotiate supplier agreements, leases, and royalty contracts.
  * 
    Support OFGEM audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  * 
    Review documentation for new energy sites and identify contractual and commercial risks.
  * 
    Work with finance and operations to ensure commercial clarity and efficiency.
  * 
    Provide commercial insight, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  * 
    Ensure contracts remain aligned with business objectives and performance expectations.
About You
  * 
    Strong experience managing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts.
  * 
    Direct experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts
  * 
    Ideally experienced in energy, utilities, engineering, or industrial environments.
  * 
    Methodical and detail-oriented with a strong commercial mindset.
  * 
    Confident working with senior leaders and challenging unclear terms.
  * 
    Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  * 
    Degree-educated in a commercial, legal, business, or related field (preferred).
  * 
    Bonus: experience with procurement agreements, financial models, or audit processes.
The Offer

    £55,000 – £70,000 depending on experience.

    12-month FTC starting January 2026 (full handover provided).

    4 or 5 days per week — flexibility for the right person.

    Hybrid working (mainly office-based in Warrington).
