About the Role
As Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the development and execution of our commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, improving margins, and building lasting relationships with key clients in retail, hospitality, foodservice, and distribution.
You’ll lead our sales, procurement, and marketing functions, working closely with operations to ensure quality, supply chain efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy aligned with growth targets
* Lead and manage sales teams, ensuring performance and accountability
* Negotiate supplier and customer contracts, balancing cost control and quality supply
* Identify and develop new business opportunities across B2B channels
* Analyse market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to inform strategy
* Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients and suppliers
* Collaborate with the operations team to ensure end-to-end service excellence
* Drive improvements in gross margin and commercial KPIs
* Report directly to the Managing Director/Board
About You
* Proven commercial leadership experience in fresh produce, foodservice, FMCG, or wholesale distribution
* Strong understanding of the fresh produce supply chain, seasonality, and sourcing strategies
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
* Strategic mindset with the ability to execute and deliver results
* Financially literate, confident in P&L, forecasting, and margin management
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Resilient, entrepreneurial, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
