Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Croydon (Work Across M25 Area)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOE
Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out servicing, breakdowns, diagnostics and repairs across commercial boiler rooms in schools, care homes, and various commercial buildings.
Although the role is primarily commercial, there will be some domestic gas work included when required.

Work will be mainly in Croydon, with occasional travel within the M25.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Service, repair and maintain commercial heating systems including boilers, plant rooms, and associated equipment

  * 

    Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works in commercial boiler rooms

  * 

    Complete domestic gas servicing and repairs when required

  * 

    Attend breakdowns and provide high-level technical support

  * 

    Ensure all works comply with Gas Safety standards and relevant legislation

  * 

    Complete accurate job sheets, reports, and compliance documentation

  * 

    Communicate professionally with clients, site managers, and building staff

  * 

    Maintain van stock levels and ensure tools/equipment are kept in good condition

Requirements

  * 

    Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1 / CODNCO1 or equivalent)

  * 

    Domestic gas qualifications (CCN1)

  * 

    Proven experience working on commercial boiler rooms (schools, care homes, plant rooms, etc.)

  * 

    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

  * 

    Full UK driving licence

  * 

    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  * 

    Excellent communication and customer service skills

  * 

    Knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards
