Job Description

Solicitor – Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution (1–2 years’ PQE) Location: London ( 4 days in office) An established and highly regarded City law firm is seeking a Solicitor with 1–2 years’ PQE in Commercial Litigation to join its dynamic Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. The Role This is a broad and varied role covering a wide spectrum of disputes, including: • Commercial contract disputes • Insolvency disputes • Insurance disputes • Professional negligence claims • Regulatory matters • Defamation and reputation management • White-collar fraud (civil and criminal) • Public law, inquests, and privately funded criminal cases The successful candidate will support Partners on complex cases while also managing their own caseload, with exposure to High Court and County Court litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other forms of dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities • Running and managing own files, delegating to trainees/paralegals where appropriate • Drafting legal documents and managing dispute processes • Advising and liaising directly with clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation management • Assisting senior fee earners on high-value, complex matters • Contributing to business development and client training initiatives • Maintaining accurate and well-organised case files • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm-wide policies About You • 1–2 years’ PQE as a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (in England & Wales) • Strong academic background (2:1 degree or above preferred) • Previous High Court experience is essential • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client interaction • Strong commercial awareness and proactive approach to problem-solving • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision • Proficient in MS Office applications
