Job Description

Commercial Manager required for a leading contractor based in Dartford. Join a growing business delivering major social infrastructure projects across the South of England, offering a salary of £85,000–£95,000 plus package and genuine career progression.

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to strengthen their expanding Pre-Construction team. This is a strategic leadership role where you'll oversee commercial governance, reporting and assurance across a portfolio of complex projects within healthcare, education, housing and public sector infrastructure.

Job Description

Leading commercial governance, compliance and assurance across multiple pre-construction divisions, ensuring consistency and best practice throughout the commercial function.
	
Reviewing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, commercial reports and risk allowances, providing robust challenge and assurance before submission to senior leadership.
	
Producing executive-level dashboards, commercial reports and strategic performance analysis to support business decision-making across the Dartford-based pre-construction team.
	
Driving continuous improvement by implementing commercial processes, auditing procedures, standardising reporting and developing commercial best practice across the South of England business.
	
Supporting Lead Quantity Surveyors through mentoring, performance reviews, governance, commercial compliance and the development of consistent commercial standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead within construction, infrastructure or social housing.
	
Strong knowledge of commercial governance, CVRs, forecasting, commercial reporting and risk management within major projects.
	
Experienced managing high-value tenders and complex projects valued at £20m+ within pre-construction or major project environments.
	
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline, with RICS or equivalent professional membership desirable.
	
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting commercial information to directors and influencing strategic business decisions within the Dartford and wider South East operation.
