Job Description
My client are a market-leading specialist contractor in the design, supply, and installation of certified Passive Fire Protection systems.
They are seeking a skilled Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our commercial operations. In this pivotal position, you’ll provide financial oversight, commercial leadership, and risk management across a diverse portfolio of passive fire protection and related specialist projects.
Key Responsibilities
*
Oversee cost planning, forecasting, cash flow management, and budget control throughout all stages of project delivery
*
Prepare, review, and negotiate valuations, variations, and subcontractor payments
*
Lead contract administration, including compliance with industry standards and accreditation requirements
*
Collaborate with estimators, project leads, and engineers to ensure cost efficiency and project profitability
*
Conduct commercial risk assessments and advise on mitigation strategies
*
Facilitate strong stakeholder engagement—from clients and suppliers to site teams—to uphold commercial performance
What We’re Looking For
*
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar discipline; RICS accreditation is highly desirable
*
Proven experience (ideally 3+ years) in a commercial managerial or QS role—preference given to candidates with exposure to passive fire protection, façade, or similar specialist sectors
*
Strong command of commercial software, cost-control systems, and contract documentation
*
Sharp analytical skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to drive efficiency and value
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership aptitude
