Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor
Location: North West base with regional travel
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
The Opportunity
A growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across a portfolio of commercial and mixed use projects. The business delivers design to handover schemes with a focus on quality, repeat clients and long term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead cost planning, tendering, budgeting and commercial strategy from pre-construction through to completion
• Manage procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration and negotiation
• Oversee valuations, variations, change control, cost reporting and final accounts
• Support delivery teams with commercial governance, risk management and profitability control
• Produce accurate commercial reports, cash flow forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
What You Will Bring
• Background as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS within construction, ideally main contracting
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts, procurement routes and commercial controls
• Proven experience managing commercial delivery on multi-discipline commercial builds
• Confident negotiator with excellent financial control and reporting capability
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise workload and maintain accuracy under pressure
• Professional, people centred approach with a focus on quality and long term client relationships
