With a growing project portfolio and increasing demand, they are now seeking a Commercial Pipe Fitter to join their on-site team in Bromley on a freelance contract basis.

The Role: Commercial Pipe Fitter
This contract role is suited for a confident and competent pipe fitter with a solid background in commercial environments. You will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of various commercial pipe systems, working to exact specifications and technical drawings.
You’ll be expected to work independently or as part of a small team on active construction or refurbishment sites, ensuring systems are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
Responsibilities
* Install, adapt, and maintain commercial pipework including copper, steel, and plastic systems
* Read and interpret building schematics, mechanical drawings, and installation plans
* Conduct pressure tests to verify system integrity before commissioning
* Troubleshoot and resolve piping issues using practical, efficient methods
* Ensure all installations meet legal regulations and industry best practices
* Liaise with site supervisors and contractors to ensure work is coordinated and completed on schedule
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, adhering to strict health and safety standards
* Keep accurate records of materials used, hours worked, and site progress as required by the project manager
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial pipe fitting
* Recognised plumbing qualification: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent
* Valid CSCS Card – essential for site access
* Proven track record of working on commercial or industrial projects such as schools, hospitals, office buildings, etc.
* Excellent understanding of commercial heating, cooling, and water systems
* Ability to read and work from complex technical drawings and schematics
* High level of independence, reliability, and attention to detail
* Must have own hand tools (power tools advantageous)
* Own transport desirable but not essential depending on location
Contract Details
* Start Date: Within 2 weeks (flexible for the right candidate)
* Location: Bromley (on-site, not remote)
* Contract Length: Minimum 3 weeks, with likely extension through to August/September based on performance and workload
* Rate: £150 – £200 per day (depending on experience, tools, and transport availability)
* Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts (start and finish times to be confirmed)
* Job Type: Freelance / Self-Employed
* Holiday & Benefits: Not applicable for contract roles
