Description
The Commercial Manager will lead commercial (procurement) management across high-volume, fast-moving portfolios in building, civil engineering, maintenance and renewal projects and critical infrastructure support contracts
Develop commercial (procurement) strategies and support pre-contract activities to ensure projects are set up for success
Collaborate with internal teams, understand stakeholder needs, and build strong supplier relationships
Navigate multiple projects at various stages, bringing clarity, structure, and momentum
Oversee contractor performance under framework agreements, leading contract negotiations and risk/value assessments
Guide and develop a high-performing commercial (procurement) team delivering saving and efficiency targets.
Profile
Will be a self motivated and engaging leader who who can prioritise well to manage workloads in a fast paced, delivery focused environment.

Skills and Knowledge Required
Strong Commercial acumen
Knowledge of railway and/or construction industry conditions of contract
Experienced negotiator
Experience of resolution of construction contract disputes
Relevant railway/construction experience
Knowledge of commercial contract management
Good communication skills
Ideally you will also have experience of managing and developing a team of staff
