Job Description

My client is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team as a Salaried Partner and Head of Department in Wimbledon, London. Key Deliverables: • Provides high quality legal advice, representing and supporting clients where required, ensuring clients understand risks and timeframes; • Takes responsibility for a case from start to finish; • Keeps abreast of any legal developments that may affect casework; • Handles confidential or sensitive information in a professional manner; • Manages diaries, schedules and attend meetings ; • Deals effectively with any external agencies linked to caseload; • Manages own time and workload and provide help to others in the Firm whenever needed; • Keeps colleagues informed of progress, ensures regular reports are provided as required from time to time. • Ensures that all files both paper and electronic are maintained to the highest standard and all appropriate paperwork completed accurately and on time. • Keeps the Client’s electronic file on the firm’s case management system up to date. • Adheres to all the Firm’s policies and procedures. • Uses only the firm’s standard procedures and precedents. • Sustains a close working relationship with clients, understanding and meeting their relevant, professional needs; • Works to develop a long-term business relationship with the client, anticipating needs in order to add value; • Keeps informed of services provided throughout the Firm and refers clients to other specialist departments. • Meets the Firm’s current target for fee earning and assist colleagues, whenever possible, to achieve goals; • Accurately records all chargeable time on the firm’s case management system. Person Specification • A qualified, experienced Solicitor in possession of a current Practising Certificate. • Has specialist knowledge relevant to their designated legal department. • Experienced in managing a department and demanding caseload, to their reasonable agreed capacity. • Ability to draft clear and succinct, legal documents. • Ability to communicate clearly to clients in person and by other means of communication. • Client Focus: - The desire to delight clients by concentrating on discovering, understanding and satisfying needs. Networking and bringing people, opportunities and activities together. Arranges win/win solutions. • Commercial Awareness: - Understanding the importance of financial success and willingness/ability to act in the interest of achieving it. Negotiates the best terms for the Client. Includes managing legal and contractual aspects. • Planning and Organising: - Identifying department objectives clearly, planning actions, allocating tasks and monitoring progress. Coordinating with and informing others as necessary. Ability to juggle many different conflicting demands and priorities. • Team-working: - Manages the department in a complementary fashion, which when effective produces an holistic solution. Liasing and cooperating with others, aware of own and others’ abilities and limitations. • Communication: - Receiving, interpreting and imparting information and ideas, both written and spoken, to a wide range of people. Influencing others. Gaining respect by operating in a professional and credible manner. Proactively promotes the firm and it’s services.
