Overview
A major Indian grower–exporter of fresh produce is seeking an experienced Commercial / Sales professional to lead and expand the market presence of their premium grape portfolio across the UK and European markets. This is a key strategic role focused on driving retail and contracted sales, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the development of a broader global grape offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the company’s fresh grape business within UK and EU retail and wholesale channels.
* Manage and expand relationships with key customers including major UK and EU retailers, discounters, and contracted partners.
* Identify new commercial opportunities within European markets and contribute to global expansion initiatives.
* Collaborate closely with the grower and export teams in India to align supply planning, quality expectations, and market demand.
* Negotiate pricing, volume programs, and long-term supply agreements.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and category performance to guide growth strategies.
* Ensure high customer satisfaction through consistent communication and service excellence.
Candidate Profile
* Proven commercial or sales experience within the fresh produce sector, ideally with grapes or similar categories.
* Strong network and understanding of UK and/or EU retail produce supply chains.
* Ability to manage large retail accounts, negotiate contracts, and deliver sustained growth.
* Highly motivated, commercially astute, and comfortable working within an international supply model.
* Willingness to travel within Europe and to India as required.
