As a Commercial Support Officer, you will work collaboratively to ensure effective purchasing of Information Technology products and services, while adhering to commercial assurance processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
Validate purchase requisitions for compliance with Standing Orders.
Raise purchase orders and determine appropriate ledgers.
Respond promptly to urgent requests from frontline and senior officers.
Maintain accurate records of purchases and invoicing.
Resolve billing discrepancies and identify cost reduction opportunities.
Assist in supplier relationship management and contract meetings.
Collaborate with Finance and Information Systems teams to produce budgetary estimates.
Provide guidance on Standing Orders to projects and business teams.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods/services.What We're Looking For:
Essential Skills and Experience:
Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
Experience in engaging with suppliers and managing billing/invoicing.
Proficiency in billing analysis and cost reduction strategies.
Understanding of budgeting and governance processes.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively support internal customers.
You will have to undergo Police Vetting if successful and the criteria is that you have lived within the UK continuously for at least 3 years at the time of applicationDesirable Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of contract structures and public procurement processes.
Experience in asset (stock) control.
