Job Title: Commissioning Engineer
Reporting to: Installation Manager.
Job Function: To ensure the company’s Commissioning and Client Training activities meet client specifications and are completed in accordance with company procedures and Quality Standards. The work will be Site and office-based for a variety of clients and will require a flexible approach, with the possibility of occasional overseas assignments.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Timely submission and completion of all documents, including reports, technical data, along with Commissioning and Training schedules, as agreed with the customer and Commissioning Coordinator.
* Ensure all Commissioning documentation is completed correctly/recorded, and stored.
* Ensuring proper and timely presentations and returns, liaising with all departments and sub-suppliers to obtain the required data.
* Assisting the Commissioning Coordinator with progress on each contract by attending meetings or discussions with the departments concerned.
* Be involved in creating technical documents, e.g.:
Method Statements
Risk Assessments
Commissioning Plans/Sheets
Training Plans/Manuals
* Always maintaining proper contact with the customer, responding to correspondence and any queries relating to allocated contracts and document submissions.
* Carry out Mechanical and Electrical commissioning and fault finding on-site in the UK and overseas, as required.
* Become involved in product development, liaising with the Engineering department.
* Any other duties that the Installations Manager may reasonably request.
Person Specification
Required:
Time served as an Electrician.
Electrical Inspection & Testing Trained.
Experience working in a Field Service role.
Proven knowledge of Health & Safety requirements on Construction Sites (in particular Working with Electricity)
Understanding of current Wiring Regulations.
Ability to understand and interpret Electrical Specifications and Electrical Schematic Drawings.
Ability to proofread technical and operational manuals.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
Proven ability to work to deadlines.
Computer literate in Word, Excel, and MS Project.
Clean driving license
Preferred:
18th Edition trained.
IOSH Managing Safely.
Mechanical background.
Good standard of education.
The role will involve working away from home, travelling to sites in the UK and occasionally overseas
