Job Title: Electrical QA / Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre Projects
Location: Slough
Overview:
A leading data centre development project in the London region is seeking an experienced Electrical QA / Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of hyperscale Data Centre. The role sits between the client and subcontractor, ensuring that both QA procedures are aligned and electrical systems are commissioned to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the interface between client and subcontractor QA teams, harmonising differing QA processes to ensure a consistent approach.
*
Conduct electrical QA inspections of critical systems, including busbars, switchgear, and LV/HV panels.
*
Develop, coordinate, and execute QA and commissioning checklists in line with design specifications and regulatory standards.
*
Oversee pre-commissioning and energisation activities, identifying and resolving discrepancies or non-conformances.
*
Verify installation and continuity of all electrical systems, maintaining accurate records for audit and handover purposes.
*
Support commissioning and handover of mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability and safety.
*
Provide recommendations for process improvements and QA procedure enhancements.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as an Electrical QA or Commissioning Engineer in data centre or mission-critical environments.
*
Solid understanding of busbars, switchgear, LV/HV distribution, and electrical testing/commissioning.
*
Experience working with multiple QA frameworks and aligning subcontractor/client procedures.
*
Knowledge of commissioning protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
*
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
*
Ability to work on fast-paced, complex projects with high safety and quality expectations.
