Job Title: Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical Location: Sellafield Site (Hybrid working available at the manager's discretion) Contract Duration: August 2025 - July 2026 Pay Rate (Umbrella): £49.08 per hour Security Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS and P4 Pass About the Role We're seeking a Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical with strong experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioning to support the safe and effective delivery of commissioning activities. This is a key role in ensuring that complex systems operate as intended and meet strict safety and operational standards. You will work within the commissioning delivery team and report directly to the Commissioning Team Leader, focusing on the execution, documentation, and assessment of mechanical commissioning activities. Key Responsibilities Execute and oversee commissioning tests, ensuring safety and compliance. Deliver commissioning scopes in line with strategy, timeline, and budget. Promote and maintain safety standards (nuclear, radiological, conventional, environmental). Review and assess test results and commissioning performance, taking corrective action as needed. Liaise with key stakeholders to gain approvals and minimise project impact. Contribute to related project processes including design, HAZOP, risk assessments, and knowledge sharing. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioning, including in-cell handler testing. Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline (or equivalent). Experience working in nuclear environments with a clear understanding of regulatory and safety protocols. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Familiar with project management methodologies (APM membership desirable). IOSH Managing Safely certification. Hold a relevant trade card. Why Join?
